About TNMP

Founded in 1935, TNMP is a transmission and distribution service provider that delivers power to 76 cities with more than 230,000 customers, and on behalf of 65 retail electric providers in Texas.

TNMP delivers power to residential and commercial customers in a geographically dispersed footprint across the state, including the Gulf Coast, North Texas, Central Texas and West Texas.

TNMP delivers electricity that customers purchase through the retail electric provider they have selected through the Texas Electric Choice program. In addition, the company transmits accurate, timely meter readings to retail providers for billing purposes, handles service connections and re-connections as requested by retail providers, and constructs and maintains the poles and wires that deliver electricity. The company has locally based service teams that ensure prompt response to power outages.

Headquartered in Lewisville, Texas, TNMP has around 350 employees in more than 20 communities throughout the state. TNMP's formal name is Texas-New Mexico Power Co., but it now only serves Texas. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of PNM Resources.
